Conditioning Tower Replacement—Durkee, OR

Dix Corporation recently replaced the top 62 feet of the MCT Gas Conditioning Tower at this Eastern Oregon cement plant and quarry. The work was successfully completed within a planned two week winter outage and included insulating the tower plus removal and replacement of the spray system and catwalk attached to the existing tower. The new 17' diameter tower was fabricated in Utah, transported over the road on Dix dollies and installed in one piece 100 feet in the air. Additional outage work that Dix completed was the replacement of 7'-8" diameter steel duct between the raw grinding mill and cyclone.
