Dix has current and recent crane projects at thirteen dams, two shipyards, a mine and a refinery. Locations include the extreme Pacific Northwest (Anacortes, WA) and the deep Gulf Southeast (Tallahassee, FL). Other states where Dix has current or recent crane projects include: Idaho, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. Most of these projects involve rehabilitation and modernization of gantry and bridge cranes ranging in capacities from 18-tons to 500-tons. Several, however, involve the erection of new cranes. At Bonneville Dam Dix recently erected a new 480-ton intake gantry crane. The contract coming up in Virginia calls for the erection of a 30-ton portal type revolving crane at the Newport News Naval Shipyard. Dix is currently erecting four new cranes at Rock Island Dam, including two powerhouse bridge cranes, one transfer crane and one tailrace gantry crane. At the Shell Oil Company's Anacortes refinery, Dix inspects, maintains and repairs the Landell 17.5-ton semi-gantry coker crane through a five year service agreement. Dix recently completed the inspection and rehabilitation of a 5-ton bridge crane at Hecla's Lucky Friday Mine near Mullan, Idaho.
