Dix erected steel and installed equipment from elevation 145' to elevation 213' atop the grain elevators at this ship loading facility on Puget Sound. The $1,000,000 "Grain Elevator Conveyance Modifications" contract required the erection of heavy, complex steel framing in tight quarters around existing equipment and structures, over 200 feet in the air. The subsequent installation of conveyors, chutes, platforms, stairs, dust collection ductwork and electricification completed the modifictions. The revised system will significantly reduce the time required to load a ship with grain.
